Member of the Month - August 2026

Dear Fisnik,

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations on being named Member of the Month.

You've been working out with us for some time now, and we've really noticed how regularly you attend classes and the progress you've made. You do a lot to motivate both new and existing members. Be sure to keep it up!

Can you introduce yourself to us in a few sentences?

My name is Fisnik; I’m 38 years old and come from the Zurich area. I work in banking and also spend my free time working on various personal projects. As a result, my daily life is often quite hectic, which is exactly why exercise is such a great way for me to unwind. CrossFit allows me to truly switch off for an hour and focus solely on my workout.

How did you get into CrossFit back then?

I actually discovered CrossFit while traveling in Thailand. When I got back to Switzerland, I was surprised by how widespread and well-established it is here. I gave it a try, stuck with it—and now it’s an integral part of my daily routine.

What impresses you most about this sport?

Definitely the people and the team spirit. You train for yourself, but somehow you’re always doing it together. Add to that the loud music, the atmosphere in the classes, and, of course, the coaches, who always manage to push you just a little bit further. That combination is what makes CrossFit special to me.

What motivates you to attend classes several times a week?

I've incorporated CrossFit so firmly into my daily routine that I don't even think about it much anymore. The 6 a.m. class is just part of my daily routine. Of course, my progress motivates me, too—when something you've been working on for a long time suddenly clicks, you automatically want to keep going.

What do you take away from your training to apply to your everyday life?

That you can usually accomplish more than you think you can. During training, there’s always that moment when your mind tells you it’s enough—and yet you can still push a little further. You can apply this mindset pretty well to other areas of life.

Is there a fun fact about you that we don't know yet?

I have red-green color blindness. And if you ever meet someone else who does too: Please don’t ask them right away, “What color is the grass?” 😂 We see colors—we don’t live in a black-and-white movie. With certain shades, we’re just not quite as sure as you are. And yes: I know that grass is green. 😄

What does a perfect day look like for you?

Get up early, start the day with CrossFit, and then have a good breakfast. After that, do something—preferably outdoors—enjoy good food, and spend time with the people who matter to me. If the sun is shining, too, I really don’t need much else.

What do you consider to be your strengths?

I'd say ambition and tenacity. Once I've set my mind to something, I usually stick with it. At the same time, I get really excited about things and try to pass that energy on to others.

When someone new joins our team, what advice would you give them to help them get started?

Don't compare yourself too much to others. At first, you'll see people lifting weights or doing exercises that make you wonder if you'll ever be able to do them. But everyone had to start somewhere. Come regularly, focus on your own progress, and give yourself time. Eventually, things that seemed impossible at first will suddenly become completely normal.
