Member of the Month - January 2026
Dear Thi Si,
We would like to congratulate you on being named *Member of the Month*.
You've been with us for less than a year and started with our boot camp last April. We've really noticed the changes in you, your motivation, and your progress. You're an inspiration! Be sure to keep it up!
Can you introduce yourself to us in a few sentences?
A very open-ended question ☺ I'm 45, married, work as a psychologist, and have roots in Laos.
How did you get into boot camp/CrossFit back then?
I stopped taking care of my body, stopped exercising, and ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Emotional eating led to even more weight gain, until I could no longer bear to look at myself in the mirror. I used menopause as an excuse so I wouldn't have to exercise.
I tried going for a jog on my own and doing yoga at home, but I always gave up after a short while. I Googled “boot camp” and came across you guys. Until then, I had no idea what CrossFit was ☺
What do you like most about this sport?
The motivation from the coaches and other participants. I like that all the exercises can be adapted to any level. I also love how I feel afterward and the anticipation of the next session.
What's one little thing that makes you happy right away?
A smile.
What do you take away from your training that you can apply to your everyday life?
Ever since I started exercising regularly, I've been sleeping much better and have more energy.
What excuse have you stopped using since you started doing CrossFit?
Once I've signed up for a class, I show up. There are no more excuses.
You haven't been with us very long and started the boot camp a few months ago. What has changed the most in your daily life since then?
I feel fit, I enjoy looking at myself in the mirror again, and I have fun exercising. That wasn't the case before ☺
I've incorporated the tasks from the boot camp—such as drinking 3 liters of water, sleeping 7 hours, weighing myself every day, exercising for 20 minutes, and taking 5-hour breaks from eating—into my daily life, and they've become part of my routine.
When did you first really feel at home here?
Mmmmmhhhhh. Actually, you feel right at home here from day one. But I still have the utmost respect for all the pros who train alongside me ☺
If someone is thinking about starting a boot camp or CrossFit, what advice would you give them?
It's definitely worth it. Stick with it, get involved, and enjoy your success.
